Project Description: Arlington Highlands is a 75 acre mixed use development planned around junior anchor retailers and a “Lifestyle Center” approach for small retailers. This approach to retail is centered on pedestrian activity and integrated outdoor spaces for relaxation and aesthetics, while using the center. The focal point of the “Lifestyle Center” component is the MMA designed linear park featuring a manmade stream running approximately 1,000 linear feet. The linear park also includes park benches, special paving, and other walkways which help promote a pedestrian environment between shops and an outdoor setting to create a neighborhood feel. MMA incorporated this landscape design into their preparation of the planned development zoning for the project. MMA represented the client through the zoning effort.
