Sleeping Panther Park 1
Project Description: The “Sleeping Panther” was commissioned by the Heritage Trails Project in 2002. Sculptor Deran Wright fashioned this 8’ bronze panther to permanently “catnap” on the grounds of the Tarrant County Administration Building.
The space around the panther was in dire need of a face lift because of heavy foot traffic and dense shade provided by the now grown live oaks. In 2005 MMA and its (strategic partner) construction arm, Site Planning Site Development, were asked to redesign and construct a more pedestrian and maintenance friendly area around the 8’ bronze panther.
